Pentewan Village

Pentewan is a 20 to 30 minute walk via the beautiful St Austell River. Simply head out of the holiday park - over the road and you will find the river adjacent. Make sure to head right or you’ll be walking into St Austell instead. Pentewan is a small coastal village where you can find some small shops, water activity rentals, a post office and the Ship Inn pub which we always make sure to visit when we stay.

Mevagissey

Mevagissey is a short drive away - approximately 10 minutes - and a 1 hour walk if you want to take in the coastal scenery. This is a busy fishing village and port. The village is a popular tourist destination so expect it to be quite busy during peak season but it is well worth a visit. Find beautiful old buildings, quaint shops, lovely food and a small aquarium. We love to pop round to the port in our boat from time to time for a different perspective.

Charlestown

Another 10 minute drive but in the opposite direction, Charlestown is also a small village and port on the outskirts of St Austell. Visiting Charlestown is like taking a trip back into the Georgian era with its pristine working port. It is now made popular because many scenes of Poldark were filmed here but worth a visit either way. The harbour hosts many beautiful ships which are worth viewing alone but we especially love to visit at sunset and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. You can sit outside the pub by the water and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and family.

St Austell Brewery

Our adult visitors may enjoy a trip to the local brewery. Find premium beers, an array of gifts in the refurbished shop, lovely cornish food and many events throughout the year.

For those who plan on drinking this is only a short taxi ride away or the number 24 bus can be caught from right outside the holiday park taking you into the centre of St Austell.
